Beer Pairing

AGE: Adults 21+

Beer pairing class (3 hours, $120)

Wine typically gets the spotlight when it comes to food pairings, but beer may actually be more food friendly.

We will be tasting a variety of craft beers – from Hefeweizen to IPAs, Irish red ale, and Stouts, plus any interesting seasonal brews we come across. In addition we will be tasting a wide range of foods to learn how they interact with the different styles of beer – and providing you with the knowledge and recipes to keep your taste buds happy.

You'll Learn to Prepare:

Each week we will be cooking one featured food dish within each beer category.

Sample Menu:

Hefeweizen – crab cakes, spring rolls, seared tuna

IPA – roasted onion tart, crispy chicken, pecan tart

Irish red – pad thai, fried green tomatoes, grilled asparagus

Stout – lamb shanks, bitter chocolate cake

About Our Culinary Instructor:

Sean McGuire

Sean is a professional chef with almost a decade of experience. He developed his love of cooking as a child growing up in Korea, Italy, Germany, and the American south. After receiving his culinary degree he worked extensively in San Francisco, Napa, and Sonoma at Michelin-starred restaurants and award-winning wineries before moving to Barrington with his wife Shauna and son Hunter. Both in the kitchen and out, Sean loves how cooking can introduce a new experience, ingredient, or culture.
